It's important to recognize the role of private sectors in promoting the welfare and employment of persons with disabilities, especially for those who are neurodivergent. Creating partnerships with schools or non-government organizations dedicated to empowering neurodivergent individuals is a viable option to ensure effective and efficient implementation of accommodations. This is a practice implemented by companies actively making their workforce more inclusive, thus contributing to promoting neurodiversity inclusion.
Important guidelines in creating agreements for the partnerships include the following:
There should be a clear commitment from the employer to create an inclusive and supportive workplace for neurodivergent employees. This includes ensuring that the neurodivergent applicant is involved in the entire recruitment process.
Partner schools or organizations and the employer will work closely together to achieve suitable employment for neurodivergent employees.
Assistance requested by the employer and the assistance provided by their partner school or organization shall be given in a timely manner.
An interactive manner of open communication and mutual consultation is essential in the process of employment accommodation. Meetings shall be done regularly to assess the progress of neurodivergent individuals employed in the organization.
